An orifice stormwater pit is designed to capture and control stormwater runoff. It is also known as an detention chamber. The main purpose of an orifice stormwater pit is to mitigate the effects of heavy rainfall by providing temporary storage for stormwater and controlling its release into the drainage system regulating the flow of stormwater out of the pit.
